RZ 9 series The new benchmark in digital duplicators

RISO's highest print speed – an astonishing 180ppm–gets even your biggest job done in a flash. For example, a print run of 10,000 pages takes less than an hour to complete.
No matter how big the job, you can rely on RISO 900 series printers to take care of it fast.

High-resolution 600dpi scanning and printing is your assurance of beautifully clear output with a truly professional look. Thanks to the fine dot pitch, small typefaces are superbly legible, large curves have smooth outlines, and halftone photos have fine tonal gradations.

Ultimate paper-handling convenience
Auto document feeders
Two optional auto document feeders are available. AF-VI:II is a single-side scanning unit that scans at double speed, while DX-I is a dual-side scanning type with quadruple-speed scanning*. Both units have a 50-sheet capacity.

Multi-tray paper feeder
Multi-tray paper feeder (Z/V)   The multi-tray paper feeder unit (standard for RZ977 only) adds two further 1,000-sheet paper trays to the standard 1,000-sheet paper tray. You can load paper of different sizes in each tray for immediate access, or load the same size paper in all three trays for long, uninterrupted print runs.
Auto control stacking tray
The auto control stacking tray (standard for RZ977, option for RZ970) automatically adjusts the stacking fence to match paper size. This means your finished documents will always be neatly aligned with no edges sticking out to get folded or mutilated.

600dpi scanning and printing
Full 600dpi scanning and printing gives beautifully clear output. In particular, very small letters are superbly legible and large curves have ultra-smooth outlines.

HD Black ink and HD masters
Specially developed for the RZ900 series, RISO HD Black ink and HD masters give a deeper, richer black for an even more professional and pleasing look to documents.

Adjusts contrast when scanning documents for best legibility.

Free adjustment of overall tone curve for finer tone gradations.

Adjusts dot pitch for clearer, sharper halftone photos.

Allows final adjustment of contrast before making the master.

Easy control of total print density for greater legibility.

Automatic assurance of optimum print quality, easy monitoring of consumables.
Easy connection, wide-ranging network compatibility
One-touch USB connection
Built-in USB 2.0 port gives one-touch, high-speed connection to a single computer giving virtually instant access to the ultra high speed RZ900 series printers.
Adobe PostScript 3 compatibility
Addition of the PS7R-5000 adaptor gives RZ900 series printers full compatibility with Adobe PostScript 3, the worldwide standard in imaging used by print service providers, publishers, corporations, and government agencies. You can rely on the power of Adobe PostScript 3 to accurately print the most complex, visually rich documents.

The ideal addition to your network
RZ900 series printers are also superbly adapted to use as network printers. Bundled RISO Admin and RISO Monitor software further raise utility, with RISO Admin software providing easy network configuration such as setting the IP address, and RISO Monitor software giving real-time status of remaining volume of consumables, current printer operation status, and more.

The power to get the job done
Ultra high-speed 180 ppm printing
RZ900 series printers set a new benchmark for high-speed printing. Thanks to 180ppm output, you can print an astonishing 10,000 copies in less than an hour, making short work of even the heaviest print job.
Enhanced cost-efficiency
Falling price per page
With a RISO printer, the longer your print run, the lower the cost per page – unlike a copier where the cost per page is fixed. Since the major cost for any job is the price of the master, the more pages you print the less each one costs, to the point where you’re paying little more than the price of the paper and ink.
RZ 977 Operation Panel
The control panel on RZ900 series printers is divided into two separate areas:
the primary area features physical buttons while the secondary area consists
of a touchscreen display panel. All default settings are available from
the dedicated buttons in the primary area for easy,
intuitive operation, while deeper, custom operations are accessed
via logical menus on the touchscreen.

Preview mode
Preview mode displays your document on the touchpanel exactly as it will appear when printed. This lets you make a final layout check, ensuring your output is precisely as you intended.
Letter/photo/duo/pencil modes
Four preset modes – letter, photo, duo or pencil – give you one-touch selection of optimum print settings according to the content of your document. Choose letter mode for text- only documents; photo mode for photos or illustrations; duo mode for documents that are a mix of text and photos; and pencil mode for illustrations drawn in pencil.
A choice of three photo modes
Choose from three photo modes according to content. Standard mode is the basic setting designed to give excellent results with the majority of photographs.
Portrait mode
Portrait mode is optimized to give clear gradations of skin tones, resulting in superbly lifelike output.
Group photo mode
This mode uses a special algorithm to clearly show faces in group photos, so subjects can easily pick themselves out.
Pencil mode
Illustrations drawn in pencil sometimes fail to scan clearly resulting in missing or very faint lines.
Pencil mode is optimized to clearly scan and print such illustrations to assure you of superb resuts.
Security and wide-ranging versatility
Protect function is ideal for printing confidential documents. When your print run is finished, the printer asks if you wish to discard the master and feed it into the disposal box, preventing unauthorized personnel from making further prints. And as a further protection, the disposal box can be locked to keep confidential masters away from prying eyes.
Wide range of paper weights
Unlike a copier, RISO 900 series printers let you use a wide range of paper weights, ranging from 46 to 210 g/m2. And this means you can choose the paper stock that’s most suited to your print job. What’s more, addition of the optional wide stacking tray allows use of paper up to 340 x 555mm – even larger than A3 size.
Intelligence and convenience
Document hold
This convenient feature lets you scan and store frequently used items such as letterheads, forms and the like. The touch of a button recalls the data for master- making, eliminating the need to scan the item every time you wish to use it.
Overlay works with document hold. For example, to print a letterhead on a document simply recall the data from document hold. It is then automatically overlaid on the master at the same time as the document data.
Energy-saving sleep mode
RZ900 series printers can be set to enter sleep mode after a predetermined time with no operation. Energy consumption is cut to just 5W while maintaining network-awareness for instant access from a remote computer. A touch on the wake-up key also restores the printer to full operation status.
The mail function communicates directly with the network administrator’s e-mail account, sending information on status of consumables such as ink and masters, total print counter, and error codes in the event of a malfunction. Keeping the administrator informed of remaining ink and masters allows timely replacement, minimizing or eliminating down time. Knowledge of a malfunction’s error code allows the administrator to accurately communicate the problem to a RISO service center for either troubleshooting via telephone or prompt dispatch of service personnel.
